From The Page (March, 1998):
The gentles of the Shire of Windy Meads invite all who love chivalrous combat and good food to our annual Pas d' Arms and Banquet, Join us for the pas that awards as much for panache as for valor. Our theme this year is Birds vs Beasts. The defenders of the shire will be birds; all others should come as a suitable beast. You are encouraged to decorate your armor and assume the aspect of your chosen animal. Weapons will be various; bring full gauntlets. All gentles not fighting are encouraged to join the gallery, so they may honor noble deeds done upon the field. This year we will be at Ferns Park. Site opens at 10:30 a.m. Invocation will be at 12:00 noon.
The feast this year will follow the theme of the pas, as well as the shire's tradition for excellence and plenty. Tickets are $15; half price for children under 12 and servers. The hall opens at 5:00 p.m.; the feast begins at 6;00 p.m. Tickets are available at events or from the autocrat, Edward le Kervere (contact info omitted).
