October Crown will be held at the Van Vleck Ranch in Rancho Murieta (East of Sacramento) from noon, October 3rd to 4:00 p.m. on October 5th.

All fires must follow West Kingdom Standards. All pets must be on a leash and attended at all times. Please choose less-traveled areas to walk your pets, or be prepared to clean up after them. The Van Vleck Ranch has a working well for wash water only. Please bring ample drinking water. There is a store about 1.5 miles from the site in the Rancho Murieta Shopping Center. Porta-Privies, will be provided. There are plenty of shady glens for camping. This is a discrete wet site. All children must be supervised at all times as there are two small lakes in the camp area. No Swimming or Wading. In courtesy to small children and early risers. Kingdom Quiet hours will be in force, your chivalry and courtesy will be greatly appreciated.

Due to extreme fire hazard, "open" (wood) fires will NOT be allowed at October Crown, A limited number of "bardic circle" fires WILL be allowed, but only after having the fire site inspected during the day by the Constable-in-Charge for the event, Gwyn, The Kingdom Constable recommends "presto-log" type wood for those who have permits, to reduce spark danger, but this is not required. The High Constable requests that Constables bring ALL available fire-fighting gear to this event.

Target Archery will be available, and a drop-in Wand Shoot competition (with prize) will be held on Saturday, Needleworkers Guild will meet Saturday afternoon. Bring whatever you are needleworking and share it with others. We'll also work on our guild project... making items for the Queen's Treasure Chest. Arachne's Web, the Lace Makers Guild invites all members and those interested in Lace Making to gather at 1:30 PM at the Arts and Sciences Pavilion for a general meeting to share anything you are working on and plan next years activities. Come and meet others interested in these interesting skills.
