The Thirty-second Year

Fools Festival and Frolic, Part Deux -- Eskalya

April 18, 1998 (AS XXXII)

Alaska Laborer's Hall,
Anchorage, AK

From The Page (April, 1998):

Feeling faint, frantic, fraught with frustration and castle fever?! Fear not faithful friends of frivolity, the Fabulous Fool's Festival and Frolic returns! (Oyh! Again with the alliteration)

Temptijig tourneys: Kitchen Wars: The Spatula Strikes Back. Again, weapons to be made resembling things that would have been used in a Medieval kitchen. New this year— the fish fling (points for style) and the Capon toss (kitchen mitt gauntlets). Armoured three-legged race. Barroom Bransle. Tlie Ladies Breeding and Refinement Obstacle course, where you are judged not on speed (ladies are NOT fast) but on deportment. Anne's impractical white garb contest. Fool's Jester: contestants are asked to bring your best jester's hat and be prepared to entertain at a feast. Casde toss for the smalls.

The site is Alaska Laborer's Hall, (address), Anchorage, Alaska. Please bring potluck items by the first letter of your modern last name: A-E Dessert; F-J Vegetables; K-O breads and cheeses; P-T Main Dish; U-Z starches. The site is wet but please conceal all in authentic containers. NOTE: feasters, please bring tables. The hall has chairs but no tables.
