It's getting to be that time again - Ducal Prize! Fun Prizes! Fun Contests! Garage Sale ! Auctions!!!!! This year's Bardic Filk theme will be TV show theme songs (pre 1990). Think back to I Dream of Jeannie, Car 54, My Three Sons !!!!! We will have several new contests for you and the return of many old favorites. Anyone who has helped out in the past and would like to help out again—see the autocrat at events or call/email. Those who have never helped out and want to do so-—contact me! Watch your Page and listen for announcements at events for further details. As of this moment, we are still searching for a site-—assistance welcomed.

The moment you've been waiting for! Here are the Ducal Prize competitions!

Bardic: Special request bardic; TV theme show filk (pre 1990); comedic piece in a period style; damning with faint praise; storytelling (under 10 min); subtle joys of love (poem/song/short recitation)

Games: Spang Hewing (throw a wet bag at a living target); Hunkerhauser; tavern raid; hula hooping i n armor; duct tape throw. Mon. a.m.: wrestling; drag races (men, women and children divisions); Jue de Boule; scavenger hunt. There will also be a children's boffer list

Fighting: Resurrection melee (with a death card AND a dog pack card!); sword and shield Hst; Ducal team melee; polearm list (7 1/2 foot limit); Cat's Cradle melee; florentine melee

Archery: IKAC round, Shoot the Duke (war arrows); Secret Spot shoot

Arts & Sciences: Songs for children (kids judge); treacherous puddings; meads; heraldic display; fighter surcoats; needlework in progress; costume accessories; table-top catapults; cover art for the Page; period dessert with fruit; arm and/or leg armor; soaps (will be tested)

Ducal Prize this year wUl be held at the Pavilion area in the Riverside Park in Marysville, CA, Site fee will be $5,00 which will entitle you to five raffle tickets. The site will open at noon on Friday and close at 5pm on Monday. There is water on site and stores close by. Events are as follows:

Friday: Special Request Bardic Saturday: Bardic: TV theme song filk, Comedic Piece in a period style. Damning with faint praise. Games: Spang Hewing (throw a soggy bag at a live target), Hunkerhauser (heavy and light div.). Duct Tape throwing for distance and accuracy. Fighting: Sword and Shield list, Ducal Team melee, Cats Cradle melee. Archery: IKAC, Shoot the Duke. Arts & Sciences: Treacherous Puddings, period desert with fruit, Meads, fighter's surcoat, children's songs (judged by the kids), arm and/or leg armor. Auction of many wonderful things including a pavilion!. Garage Sale!!!!!! Sunday: Bardic: Storytelling (10 min limit). Subtle Joys of Love (poem/recitation/song). Games: Hula Hooping in armor, Drag Races (mens, womens, and childrens div), Jeu de boule (bocce ball). Scavenger hunt. Fighting: Resurrection Melee (with a death card AND a dog pack card), Polearm List (7.5 ft limit), Florentine Melee. Archery: IKAC, Secret Spot Shoot. Arts & Sciences: Heraldic Display, Needlework in progress, costume accessories, table top catapults, cover art for the Page, soaps (will be tested). Auction of even more wonderful things including another pavilion! Garage Sale!!!!! Monday: Games: Children's boffer lists. Tavern Raid, Monday Morning Wrestling. As usual, we are always looking for donations of items for the auctions and for the garage sale. Put a box in a corner and watch it fill up with stuff you don't need! (I've watched 3 boxes fill up so far!) Bring donations to Ducal or contact me if you need help getting stuff there. Also, volunteers are always needed on site.
