This year Mists Bardic will follow the traditional format, and will be in the same site as last year, the First Baptist Church of Palo Alto. NOTE: This is a dry site. The competition will begin by 2 pm, an hour after the site opens. The feast will be Welsh, prepared by Rowan the Capricious (well known to those of you who attended the last White Shield Feast)! Tickets, available from Branwen or Rowan, cost $11.00. Make checks payable to "SCA Inc., Principality of the Mists", Competitors pay half price! Anyone wishing to be off board and anyone Interested in competing should contact Branwen.
The order of competition shall be:
Round 1: A period piece (story, song, poem/sung, played, spoken) with
Round 2: An original piece in a period style with documentation
Round 3: Bard's choice—an original piece o n the subject of gossip
Round 4: Master work—does not have to be original, but should show off your abilities
Round 5: Impromptu—create a piece using three words pulled out of a hat. You have 15 minutes (bring writing material).
