Oyez, Oyez, Oyez, announcing, in it's thirteenth successive year, the one, the only, Estrella WAR!! Come join us for many exciting activities throughout the weekend including: Open Field Batties, Broken Field Batties, Castie Batties, Resurrection Battles, Prize Tournaments, Arts and Sciences abound. Archery, Rapier, Revels, Feasts, Courts, and so much more!
The site is again at Estrella Mountain Regional Park, but this year we open a day earlier, at 12 noon, on Tuesday, February 11th, 1997 and close the following Monday the 17th at 4:00pm. Site fees have been kept the same as last year: Tues. thru Thurs. the site fee is $35 per person, Friday or after the site fee is $30. As usual there is a $5 discount for members, and in addition, this year the Crown has asked that all those under the age of 16, arriving with a paid adult, be allowed i n free of charge. Cash only. No checks.
Merchants Row has been moved to the old archery fields, and in doing so we have made space for an additional 65 merchants spaces so In addition a spectacular Midnight Madness sale is scheduled for Saturday night with specials galore.
An additional 40 acres of camping space has been freed to help alleviate any crowding problems. And a supplementary shower truck has been arraigned for to lessen the lines and speed us back to the fun.
The Arts and Sciences categories this year are, glass, cartography, and armour. In addition there will be a great variety of A & S classes offered for those with interest. As always we are still in need of volunteers. Your group will be reimbursed funds for your volunteer hours worked. You might consider coming in force to Estrella as a local fund-raiser!
