Rio Linda, CA
From The Page (May, 1996):
The West Kingdom College of Equestrian Arts will be having a playday on Sunday, May 19th. This will be a warm up for Equestrian events at Thirty Year Celebration, so lots of practice and coaching will be the order of the day. We will also run the games for prizes so there should be lots of incentive to play. The event will be held at Doubletree Ranch in Rio Linda. This site offers a large arena with great footing. Rental horses are being arranged. Please call the autocrat as soon as possible if you are interested in renting a horse. If you have always wanted to learn to make a ring spearing pass or run at the quintain, this is your chance to learn! I am hoping to put together a nice set of prizes for the games, so if you would like to donate something to be given as a prize, please contact the autocrat.
Now to the details: The site fee is $3.00 per person. Rental horse price is still being negotiated, but I expect it to be around $50 - $60 for the day. This cost can be split by two riders, but rental horses must be reserved in advance!!! Crash space will be available for Saturday night for horses and people. Please contact the autocrat. Set up begins at 8am, and the site closes at 6pm.
Remember, as of May 1st, only riders with a valid authorization will be allowed to ride. Therefore, we will be doing authorizations at this event. Further details about authorization can be found in the Equerry or from an Equestrian Marshal.
Autocrat: Countess Iseult nic Elam (contact info omitted)
