The Thirtieth Year

Mad Dog Tourney -- Vair Couvert

July 16, 1995 (AS XXX)

Serra Park,
Sunnyvale, CA

From The Page (June, 1995):

This is the chance to be the one, the only, Mad Dog of Vair Convert. Simply fight, fight, and fight and this prestigious honor could be yours. You get one point for every fight you fight and one point for every fight you win ; the one with the most points at the end of the day will be the foaming at the mouth, howling at the moon. Mad Dog of Vair Couvert. There will be prizes for the other not-quite-as-mad- as-the-Mad Dog fighters. For those of you who don't fight, there will be a Nine-man Morris tournament. Both have a list fee of $1. There will also be an illumination contest for all ages along with games of Bump and Jingle. At lunch we will hold our infamous helm lunch auction. Fighters as well as non-fighters can bring a lunch to be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the shire. The competitions for this event will be food (any dish with nuts) and most entertaining art form using nuts, leaves, twigs and other miscellaneous flora and fauna.
