The Thirtieth Year

Anniversary Tourney and Revel -- Mountain's Gate

April 20, 1996 (AS XXX)

Cameron Park,
Rescue, CA

From The Page (April, 1996):

Join us to celebrate the founding of Mountain's Gate! Because of scheduling difficulties, we are combining our event with the Windymeads Pas d'Armes (see below). The Pas will take place at the site in Rescue, where we can all be inspired by acts of prowess and examples of chivalry, and the Windymeads populace will join us in celebrating Mountain's Gate Anniversary. The site opens at 10 am. The Pas d'Armes will open at 11 am. Feasting begins at 5:30, and we bid one another adieu at 11 pm.

Tourney: Please see the ad for the Windymeads Pas for details on the tourney.

Brewing Contest: We will have two contests: beer, and wine. Bring out your best! Judgeships available: contact the autocrat.

Arts Display: During the day we will have an arts and sciences display within the feast hall. Please bring your loveliest and most interesting items to display. Include a card with your name and a description of the item.

Feast: Mountain's Gate will present roast lamb, smoked salmon, salats, lozenges, and more. Bring your finest table settings, enclosed candles, and prepare to celebrate! This site is discretely wet: please be prepared to take away your empties.

Site Fee: $2.50, free for children under 6. Feast: $7, half price for children 7-11, free for those 6 and under. We can seat 80 at board: we strongly recommend that you make a paid reservation. Make checks payable to SCA, Inc.- Mountain's Gate. Please mail checks before April 13.

Misc. Site Information: There is limited changing room on site; please come in your garb or prepared to change in a small bathroom. The horse arena where the fighting will take place has room for some sunshades around the edges.

Autocrat: Siobhan Medhbh O'Roarke, (contact info omitted).
