Estrella Mountain Park,
Metro Phoenix, AZ
From The Page (November, 1995):
Come one! Come all! To Estrella War XII, February 14-19, 1996 in the heart of Atenveldt!
Six glorious days of feasting, fighting and frolicking! Frolicking to include bardic circles. Arts &.Sciences, Archery, Boffer Competition, Laurel's Prize Tourney, and let us not forget that special ambience that the Society provides. The fighting scenarios have yet to be decided, yet we have been assured that there will be interesting and diverse battles! We have moved things around a bit to allow more camping area, larger fighting fields and a special fighting and entertainment area on Merchant's Row. There will be more showers and we're working diligently on a portable ATM and pay phones!
There will be a special children's area for supervised play and various period activities at no extra cost. Children under 16 will be required to wear a wristband for identification. Wrist bands can be purchased at the gate for $1 (which will go toward the cost of children's activities).
The site fee has not been raised this year, so the cost is $25 Wednesday to Monday, $20 Thursday to Monday, with an additional $5 charge for non members. There are some rules though: Pets must be on leashes; there will be no livestock allowed; fires must be contained and no glass containers will be allowed. State law prevents us from allowing loaded firearms on site and please remember that the drinking age in Arizona is 21.
The site is Estreha Mountain Park, just southwest of Metro Phoenix, south of Interstate 10. If you are interested in merchanting at Estrella, please contact Lady Melisend de Chartres (contact info omitted). If you need more information, or you like to schedule a special event at the War, please contact the Autocrats by telephone, postal or electronic mail.

Merchants: Greetings to all prospective Estrella war merchants from the Estrella XII merchant autocrats! Please heed the following information, as it is important to your cause. In order to improve the service provided to the merchants and increase the size of the battiefield, the Estrella XII merchants' row will be limited to 175 spaces measuring 15' across by 30' deep, and there will be no discounts for purchasing more than one space. This is a CHANGE from previous years. Spaces will be reserved on a first paid/first served basis based on the postmark date of the fully completed merchants package. We will begin mailing packets out on September 1, 1995. For more information or to have your name added to the mailing list for packets, please contact us: via the postal service at Lady Melisend de Chartres, (contact info omitted), Lord Peregrine the Seeker (Doug Burckhardt) and M'Lady Kessa (Leslie Bruner Bradford).
