From The Page (March, 1996):
The Shire of Canale is pleased to hold the sixth Provo di Amore Tournament at Phoenix Hall. Fighting, as always at the Provo di Amore, will be strictly for the honor of your consort, as all recognition and glory will go to the consort, not the champion. The Tournament will commence with a Helmschau, and then will proceed in a Pas d'Armes format, with the consorts making the challenges for their champions. Victory shall be determined by a vote of the consorts for the one consort whose champion was the most chivalrous and courteous throughout the Tournament. The Feast di Amore will follow after the Tournament. Site restrictions limit attendance to 60 people for the Tournament and Feast, so please call the autocrat for reservations.
To honor the Lord and Lady of Phoenix Hall's 20th wedding anniversary, the Shire requests that as many people as possible wear the Lord and Lady's colors of blue and/or white.
The $15 site fee includes the Tournament, a light lunch and the Feast. Reservations must be paid for by March Crown (March 24). You only need to bring clothes, armor, chairs, mugs, and favorite beverage. Everything else will be provided by the Shire.
Autocrat: Olof Guddmunddsson (contact info omitted).
