The Twenty-ninth Year

Anniversary Feast -- Westermark

April 15, 1995 (AS XXIX)

Los Altos Youth Center,
Los Altos, CA

From The Page (March, 1995):

What would have happened if the invading Crusaders had sat down for a peaceful meal and cultural exchange with the Saracens in the 1300's? The Barony of the Westermark is holding an East/West Feast featuring the cooking of Mikhail Justinian on Saturday 15 April 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 pm. The First Remove, consisting of courses from Western Europe (including "Barons of Beef"), will commence at 5:00 pm. This will be followed by a performance of Master Gerhardt von Nordflammen's outrageously funny "A Queen's Tale" by the Westermark Players. The Second Remove will consist of a variety of dishes from the Middle East, and will include belly dancing performances. The Dessert Remove will feature delights from the East and West, and will be followed by dancing and general merriment. This is a damp site. Covered candles and banners to decorate the hall are welcome (no nails or tacks allowed; please bring tape) as are large cushions. Tickets: Feast Tickets are $10.00 each: available at Tuesday Mission fighter practice, the March Crown bake sale and through the autocrats. Early purchase is greatly appreciated; final sales/reservations must be made by April 6.

Autocrat: Sara McKenzie (name/contact info)
