From The Page (August, 1994):
Once again the time has arrived for the benevolent scholars of the College of St. Cassian of Imola to choose a new champion. The scholars at St. Cassian, in keeping with their tradition, maintain that their champion must be not only skilled at arms, but aim be an exemplar of the scholarly qualities of a learned leader. All competitors will participate in an arts contest, a sciences contest, fighting, and medieval "Jeopardy". The arts and the sciences portions of the competition will be events that require no prior preparation or knowledge.
The site opens at 9 a.m. Competitions begin promptly at 10 a.m. We will begin with a non-fighting competition then do the fighting before lunch. The rest of the competitions, will take place after lunch. We would like to make the day move well so come prepared to hustle.
The tournament will be held at C.S.U. Sacramento in the North Quad. (This is the same location as the prize tourney.) To get there, (directions omitted). This event happens rain or shine.
