Silver Desert Championship will be held from Friday, August 12 to Sunday August 14 at the Bull Creek Ranch in Verdi, NV. The site opens at 3 p.m. on Friday and closes at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The site is a beautiful meadow on the river with lots of shade. The river should be low in August but parents must watch their children. Pets on a leash are permitted but this is a working ranch so any loose animals will be asked to leave. Bring your own water. The competitions for Silver Desert Champion are: chess, heraldry, weird weapons list (loaners available), scavenger hunt, historical/S.C.A. trivia, siege cooking, siege archery, bardic, period summer drinks, dance. Anyone may enter any of the competitions but in order to try for the championship, you must enter at least 7 of the 10.
