Eisteddfod Dewi Sant -- Crosston

March 5, 1995 (AS XXIX)

First Baptist Church of Palo Alto
Palo Alto, CA

From The Page (February, 1995):

Eisteddfod Dewi Sant! In honor of the patron saint of Wales, the Shire of Crosston invites you to a feast of food and music and tales. The Welsh Bardic Feast will be somewhat different than your ordinary feast, for all attending will be requested to perform some bardic work, or hire another to do it for them. Works need not be original, nor of any particular form, but you will be asked to perform them (no apologies!).

Siobhan ni Eodhusa, fresh from the highly successful Board of Directors feast, will lead a cabal of Siobhans in cooking a repast of "Food of the Bards", so please bring feast gear and table settings. The feast will be nourishing for both vegetarians and omnivores. There will be an honor given for the best poem in a Welsh form the best work overall, and the best drinking song as judged by Crosston - furthermore everyone is encouraged to bring something to give to the performer of their favorite piece as a token of recognition.

Doors will open at Noon: with some dancing to occupy everyone while we set up. First remove of the feast is at 5:00; we will begin cleanup at 9:00 and the hall closes before 10:00. Contact the Autocrat, John Theophilous, if you wish to perform any special sets, or need to check concerning food allergies.

From The Page (March, 1995):

Feeling Bardic, or like listening to it? Want good food? Come for an evening of Bardic at the Eisteddfodd! We'll gather at the First Baptist Church, dance and game and rhmye until dinner is ready, and then eat and bard! Come prepared to present a bardic work, or to pay someone else to do so! The Shire of Crosston is throwing a party, so come see! Advanced reservations are accepted by the autocrat, please make checks payable to "SCA Inc, Crosston".

NOTE: The site is a very nice church, and completely DRY. No alcohol at all, please. Also Note: Doors open at One, not at noon!
