As winter fast approaches, the Barony of Winter's Gate prepares to celebrate the bounty of the long summer and choose a Captain to lead the militia in winter/spring engagements.
The site opens at 9 a.m. and events during the day include the tourney for Captain, a potluck feast, baronial court, and various workshops including chainmail, and hardanger embroidery.
For the potluck, please bring (by mundane last name) A-M side dish, N-Z main dish. The cooking competition is for desserts, both for autocrat's whim (criterion of flavor), and Flours of Chivalry (flavor and documentation). Site fee is $3 per person ($10 for family), children under 12 free. The site is (address omitted).
