Newcomers Revel and Tourney -- Jabal al-Samira

The Shire of Jabal al-Samira invite everyone to a newcomers revel. This will be a pot-luck. If your legal last name begins with A-F - desert, G-L - salad/bread, M-R - side dish, S-Z - main dish. Bring eating utensils, beverages and a dish which well serve six to eight large portions, each portion should feed an adult with a healthy appetite. Some kitchen facilities available for warming. Hot cider and iced tea will be provided.

This newcomer's revel will be advertised to the public so all are encouraged to bring items to show and tell about, you best stories, and many banners/shields/tapestries.

Site fee is $3. Doors open at 5 p.m., dining begins at 6:30 p.m., Bard of al-Samira contest begins at 7 p.m. Contestants should plan to perform an original story/reciting/song, a filk, and a medieval piece. Court /belly dancing will follow. A tournament for the Defender of Jabal al-Samira will be held starting at 10 a.m. at Mills Park, Carson City on May 23. Some crash space available, call early for details.
