From The Page (November, 1993):
At 4 p.m. the Old Buzzard Inn will again open its doors for business. The Canton coffers are getting so low that the Innkeepers invite one and all for an evening of fun, games and mischief.
In the truest traditions of the Old Buzzard Inn our erstwhile doorkeeper will gladly provide a bag of lolarian coin, with which patrons can make their purchases, in trade for the site fee of $8 per person. Tavern fare (meat pies, stew, bread trenches and fruit pastries) will be available for purchase with lolarian coin. Additionally juice will be available for a price. Ye Old Tavern atmosphere will prevail as the Innkeepers make a valiant attempt in restocking the Canton's coffers. Remember, this is the Old Buzzard Inn where everything has its price and nothing is free. So be prepared for all sorts of unusual ways to be parted from your coin. In order to assist our patron in the lightening of their purses or sporrans, we will be auctioning off all sorts of varied and wonderful Items throughout the evening. Note: if you have anything you would like to donate to the auction, please contact the Innkeepers who will greatly appreciate your support.
Ladies work on those serving wench skills (carrying tankards, maneuvering through crowds, how to handle overly friendly patrons, etc.) for the best tavern wench contest. Other activities include an arm wrestling competition, along with competitions for beast peasant garb and best hand made serving tray. Due to climatic conditions, if you seriously want to fight in the tourney, you must contact one to the innkeepers before November 6. If there is enough interest, there will be an eric, if there isn't we'll all have fun in the security and warmth of the Inn. Please bring your bardic accouterments with you as we hope to bardlc later in the evening.
The Inn is located in the Canton, Inbhir na da Ahhann at (address omitted), Eagle River, AK 99577. If you have any questions, wish to donate items for the auction or just want to volunteer, please contact the autocrat, Grania McNish of Eagle's Eyre (mundane name) at the Inn's address, or contact her by telephone (phone).
