Once again, the West Kingdom is having an equestrian event. The site is beautiful Orangevale Park, near Sacramento. The site has a large and small arena with good footing, a grassy area for trailer parking and riding, trails, penn anent privies and paved parking for cars.
The event will be a mounted quest and a mounted games competition. Tentative scheduling is: 7:30 - 9:30 Practice and help for beginners; 9:30 - 1:00 Mounted games, including: ring spearing, quintain, flag race, and behead the Saracen; 1:00 - 2:00 Lunch; Remainder of the Day Mounted quest
There may even be a revel in the evening at the autocrat's home. In addition to prizes for the games and the winner of the quest, the autocrat will be sponsoring an award for the best horse and rider turn-out. There will be rented horses available from the same wrangler as our other events. All day rental of a horse will cost $53. A horse may be shared by two people. Paid reservations for rental horses must be to the autocrat by August 7. Make rental checks out to Jerry Bestpitch. There will be overnight stabling, for those bringing horses, at the autocrat's house. Please call to arrange.
Site fee is $5 for adults, free for 10 and under. The autocrat is looking for volunteers to help with the unmounted things that need doing. If you would like to sponsor a Contest or a game, the autocrat would be delighted to have you do so.
Autocrat: Iseult nic Elam (name/contact info).
