Site: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
From The Page (August, 1993):
Cloondara welcomes all to our third annual Debardchery Tourney. The site is the archery field in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
At 11 a.m. we will hold an archer's auction wherein the populace may bid on their favorite archer whose winning score will win a prize for his highest bidder. The IKAC and IKCAC prize competitions begin at 11:30 ; crossbows are not allowed on the field. Other competitions will include the annual bardic competition, best period cold/ cool dish, and silver tongued devil for best compliment of the day, There will be a pun contest; a tax of 25 cents per pun will be levied with the winner taking all tax proceeds. There will also be a hand kissing contest, a fish fling (points for style and distance) and a loaf lob contest (accuracy).
The bardic competition will require a period work and an original work. There will be extra points awarded for documentation and work featuring Cloondara or Cloondaran(s). If you need information about Cloondara and its shire members, contact the autocrat. You don't have to be musical to participate ... we love stories. We welcome anyone to perform.
We will have a potluck picnic. Please bring a dish based on your mundane last name as follows: A-E side dish or salad; F-N main dish; O-Z desserts. The site can be windy and cool; we suggest you bring additional layers for warmth.
Site fee is $5 for adults, children under 16 are free.
Autocrat: Caitlin Dhuin n'a n'ean (name/phone).
