From The Page (January, 1994):
Archers from all corners of the Knowne World are invited to demonstrate their target archery prowess at the Darkwood Winter Archery Tourney. The Tourney will be held at Machado School in Morgan Hill on Saturday January 22. The site will open at 9 a.rn. for warm-up, and the competition will begin at 11 a.m. The site fee is $3.
Archers will participate in lKAC and Royal Round competitions to determine the next member of the Baronial Company of Archers, the Baronial Champion and the Overall Winner. Prizes will be awarded to the top three shooters in each guild-ranked category; Novice, Bowman, Yeoman, and Bowmaster. In addition there will be a novelty William Tell shoot (crossbow not required) and a Junior Royal Round. Beginners and First timers are particularly encouraged to participate. Some loaner equipment will be available.
The arts competition will be in horn sounding, on the provided competition horn. The sciences competition will be in horn construction/decoration, and will be divided into two divisions: traditional and unusual (shell, vegetable, etc.). All horns must be playable in some fashion. Everyone is encouraged to display banners to add to the festive atmosphere.
