Site: Alfricland, Sacramento, CA
From The Page (January, 1994):
Come and help Betony Woods celebrate the one year anniversary of its incipiency at the first annual Betony Woods Prize Tourney. But wait, there's more. You can also have fun with arts and sciences on-site contests, a potluck feast and dance. Materials will be provided for non-fighting competitions.
Contests include: Of Arms - mass weapons, swordless, and sword and shield; Of Arts and Sciences - spinning, write a song/story/poem, make a favor, and carving turnip stamps; and for children - color a castle, a knight and your favorite heraldic beastie. Prizes will be awarded to all winners.
The feast is potluck by mundane last name: A-E salads and side dishes; F-H bread and condiments; I-S main dish; and T-Z desert and non alcoholic drinks. Lists and contests sign-up and armor inspection begins at noon with fighting and non-fighting contests starting at 1 p.m. The feast is at 6 p.m. Site fee is $3 per person.

"This was intended to be the First Annual Betony Wood Prize Tourney. It didn’t work out that way – this was probably the last one we had. Held at the property known as Alfricland, we had a permanent plywood castle, a real bridge over a real creek, and a small hill. We also had a very small turnout. As such, it became less of a Prize Tournament and more of a fighter practice." -- Alison Gray of Owlwood
