Site: Rollins Lake, Colfax, CA
From The Page (April, 1993):
Again we begin the new Anno Societatis at beautiful Rollins Lake. There will be hot showers, flush privies, excellent potable water from a brand new well, ice sold at the gatehouse, archery, flowering trees, green grass and (parents note) a lake with a trout pond for fishing.
Site fee is $6 per person, animals $I, children five and under free; the merchant fee is $5. All animals must be both attended and leashed or confined at all times. Anyone bringing horses please make arrangements ahead of time with the autocrat.
To save the sanity of both the heralds and the constables, please note that any vehicle parked even partly on the pavement or blocking a fire road will really be towed this time. We must comply with fire department laws. Also, please come prepared ahead of time to separate your recyclable glass, plastic, and aluminum from your other trash to comply with the county ordinance. The site may soon have new owners, so we need to make an especially good impression this year.
There will be a planning meeting for Ducal Prize sometime at Beltane. If you have something to contribute, call Eilis O'Boirne or contact her early in the event.
Contests: (documentation, presentation, and the art itself count) Performing Arts: period or period style instrumental performance, five minutes or less. Authenticity of instrument counts. Technical Sciences: make a scribing instrument or tool. Practical Sciences: soap. Wooden Spoon: meat (not fish or fowl). Arachne's Web: crochet lace.
Autocrat: Mariana Silversea (name/contact info).
