Come join the Shire of Mountains' Gate as we celebrate the discovery of the new world by the Vikings! The site fee is $5 for the weekend, children under 12 are free. Due to county regulations, we are not allowed to have merchants at this event.

Saturday's activities will begin at 8:30 A.M. First we will have a Viking round shield tourney (center grip round shields only-loaner shields will be available). Next we will play Viking games, and irl the afternoon we'll have a game of Steal the Sheep. In the evening will be a potluck feast on the eric and then Valhalla! Valhalla will feature a Euldgy contest: best eulogy, short or long, spoken, sung or what ever. No documentation needed. Contact Maura von Lippa (name/phone) for more information. There will also be a Boast & Toast and the music of Daoine Sidhe. During the day there will be a Quest for the smalls and also many arts competitions.

The arts competitions for Saturday will be: Viking Iron Spoon- Food brought back form raids (Note: This does not mean "spoils of War"! Documentation required.) Sunday's activities will begin at 9 A.M. Start the morning by going boating on "Lake Eric" (BYOBoat). Boats will be judged on beauty, sturdiness, originality, mobility and speed of assembly. The children will have a boffer battle while boats are being assembled and judged. After sailing, quests and boat battles on Lake Eric, there will be a war between the Vikings and the Spanish/Italian armies over who REALLY discovered the new world! Pick your favorite side and battle it out in group maneuvers.
