Site: Cragmont Park, Berkeley, CA
From The Page (February, 1993):
"My Lord, I challenge you because the sky is blue and the grass is green - that's color on color; I need your armor, fesswise, to fimbriate it."
In the old days, before Crown Lists got so long, challenge matches were a regular feature of Western combat. They survive in the Province of the Mists' open the tourney season tourney, traditionally the week before March Crown. Bring your new armor and your old memories to Cragmont Park (we used to hold Crown Tourneys here) and spend a pleasant, unstressed day hitting your friends with sticks. A prize will be awarded for the most ingeniously worded challenge; no other competitions will take place. Bring your lunch. If anybody volunteers to hold a post revel, we'll supply directions at the site. If it rains, as it did last year, we'll sit around the fire under the shelter and drink mulled cider and tell stories, as we did last year.
