Site: Machado School, Morgan Hill, CA
From The Page (November, 1992):
In honor of our Baroness a Masked Ball will be held. The site fee is $2 per person.
The dance symposium will begin in the morning with the instructing of period dance. Through the day there will be a mask making class given by Anastasia Ivanovna. This class is designed for those who, due to the holiday season have not had time to create or procure a mask for the ball. There will be a fee of $1 for this class.
The potluck dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Dishes will be divided by legal last names: A-H side dish or salad, I-P main dish or meat, Q-Z cheese and bread or desert. In true SCA spirit please remember that each dish should feed 6-8 people per adult attending.
There will be a culinary contest, for a dish honoring the Baroness. This dish will be your contribution to the potluck. Be creative. You must enter the contest by giving the documentation for your dish to the Baroness. Gifts will be given to those contestants whose dish most pleases the Baroness' or Baron's palate.
The masked ball will begin at 8 P.M. with the dawning of our masks. The personal creating of masks is encouraged. Prizes will be given through the evening. Come and enjoy an evening of feast and fancy.
