The Twenty-seventh Year

Archery Tourney -- Darkwood

July 18, 1992 (AS XXVII)

From The Page (June, 1992):

The tournament will be at the Machado School in Morgan Hill. The site opens at 10 A.M. for practice, sign-ups and equipment inspection. Competition starts at NOON.

The format for competition this year will be "double elimination" based on a series of royal rounds. The individual matches will run on a list system similar to the one used for combat lists. This Royal Round Tourney will determine the next member of the Baronial Company of Archers, the Baronial Champion and overall winner. All participants are required to have a minimum of 12 arrows to compete (14 arrows are strongly encouraged); this will lessen the time spent retrieving arrows between rounds.

Prizes will be awarded to the top shooter in each guild ranked category: Novice, Bowman, Yeoman, and Master-bowman. Additional activities include novelty shoots and a Junior Royal Round, if there is enough interest.

Autocrat: Dietrich von den Weinbergen (name/contact info).
