Come one, come all. as Prince Alfred leads the courageous Mistian forces cross the border to do battle with Prince Cathan and the valiant Cynaguan army. A warning about the site: the water on'site was full of trace minerals at October Crown last year. It is highly recommended that you bring lots of extra drinking water with you.

"Due to the lack of a potable water source, the waterbearers are asking that fighters bring their own water for this war:' -the Waterbearers.

From The Page (October, 1992):

Again we unleash the dogs of war on St. Crispin's Day, as Prince Alfred leads the courageous Mistian forces across the border to do battle with Prince Cathan and the valiant Cynaguan army. The war will take place at Gardner's Cove (site of last year's October Crown) just 13 miles west of Modesto. We'll have the traditional forest, open field, and resurrection battles, and lots more, including some Agincourt scenarios.

The site is large and dusty with lots of shade, and is surrounded by the San Joaquin River. Swimming is not allowed due to quicksand and lost fish hooks. Mosquitoes and Black Widow spiders were in evidence last year, so we will be spraying prior to the event, but still, be careful.

A warning about the site: the water on site was full of trace minerals at October Crown last year. It is highly recommended that you bring lots of extra drinking water with you.

We have showers and limited flush privies. Pets are allowed as long as they are on leash. Kingdom fire rules are in effect-no ground fires are allowed and raised fires should be closely watched as the grass will probably be very dry. There is also a small store on site where firewood, ice, sodas, beer, and snacks may be purchased.

Their Highnesses of the Mists and Cynagua, will host a reception for the arts and sciences at the Royal Pavilions. If you have a work you'd like to show, or an extra table you could loan, please bring it with you. This reception is open to all the populace to come and be amazed at the works of our artisans and craftsmen.
