From The Page (October, 1992): Put on your masks and head for the border. .. Borderwinds that is. Our annual Samhain theme this year is "Masque of the Red Death". There will be feasting, dancing and competitions. The competitions will be turnip carving, edible "poisoned" goodies ("poisoned" with almonds), and the scariest story, poem, or ode. There will be prizes for the most creative and most haunting costumes (remember, this is a medieval ball).
Bring your own drinks and feasting gear for the potluck and bring a dish according to mundane last name: A-H veggie or side dish, I-P dessert and Q-Z main dish. Alcohol is permitted.
The festivities will continue until we're all too dead to go on. Remember, this is Borderwinds- dress warmly. Limited crash space is available.
