Agincourt Challenge -- Arx Draconis

October 24, 1992 (AS XXVII)

From The Pegasus (October, 1992):

There is to be an archery tourney held at Pyrton Training Centre, Lord St Eden Hill, (on the lawn area off Lord St), from 10am. Tourney begins at 10.30am. A perpetual trophy (carved wooden horn), and their entry fee, will be presented to the winner, along with the right to hold next year's tourney. Tourney is double elimination, one to one, shot at 40, 30, 20 yds respectively. No crossbows. Competitors please provide a list shield such as those used by the heavy fighters. Potluck lunch at noon. Cost is $3 (members) and $4 (non-members). Cheques payable to 'SCA Arx Draconis'. Bookings of archers are required by October 18th. Competitions: Best Gear (historic/aesthetic/well made); Best New Archer (with 1 year or less SCA archery involvement); Best Greenkeeper (first at the wrong end).
