Turkey Tourney -- Hawkshaven

November 16, 1991 (AS XXVI)

From The Page (November, 1991):

The Canton of Hawks Haven presents its annual fight for live meat (turkeys) with two prizes offered (an unbelted turkey and a belted turkey). As per usual the winner will be determined by winning tokens for wins and number of fights fought (a real meat grinder). Fighting starts at 1 P.M. sharp and goes two hours. Other activities will include:

-A Lords' Helm Lunch. Lords make the lunch, Ladies bid for the time of the Lord and his lunch. Lunches, historically, have been very competitive, creative and well presented (have included a full Japanese meal, including tea ceremony, to Capons and Lobster). Lords bring forth your helm lunches, Ladies bring forth lots of $ (they go high). Bidding begins at 11 sharp.

-Men's, Women's, Children's Boffer Tourney. If you have boffers and/or heavy clothing/ protective helm, bring them.

-Grovelling Contest (self explanatory) bring lots of creative excuses.

-Live Steel Cutting Contest. Pit your live steel against the dreaded 2 liter water bottles. Bring 2 liter bottles.

The site fee is $3 and opens at 10 a.m. We run on real time not SCA. If you are late YOU will start late.

Autocrat: Gareth Lionsmane (name/contact info) and Wilhelm von Zweikopfig Falke (name/phone).
