The Twenty-sixth Year

Champion's Tourney -- St. Cassian

September 21, 1991

From The Page (August, 1991):

As the new school year approaches, the time has come for the benevolent scholars of the College of St. Cassian of Imola to select our new Champion. Due to the tremendous turnout at last year's tourney we are modifying the format of our competition. This year we will hold one art class and one science class as well as jeopardy and a double elimination list. As usual there will be prizes and adoration for the new champion. The date of this tourney will be September 21st and it will take place at beautiful CSU Sacramento. Be sure and set this day aside, sharpen your swords, sharpen your minds, and come to this unique and entertaining tourney.

Autocrat: Malcolm Macpherson ((name/contact info).

From The Page (September, 1991):

As you were foretold, the information about the College of St. Cassian's Fourth Annual Championship Tourney is now in your hands. We are looking forward to having many competitons as well as non-competitors as there will be fun for everyone. This year in an effort to streamline the competition we have decided to have one Art contest, one Science contest a double elimination fighting event, and our traditional Jeopardy game. The arts and science contests will be randomly chosen from these lists:

Arts          Sciences
Dancing          Heraldry
Music          Castle Under Siege
Story Telling          Costuming
Ink-Blot Illumination          Tools
Philosophy           SCA Geography

In order to become champion we encourage participation in all of the contests (especially since they are open-book, except for Jeopardy). The contestant with the most points at the end of the day will become our new champion. The site is the University Union at CSU Sacramento which will open at 9 A.M. Competitions will begin promptly at 10 A.M. and they begin with unarmoured competitions.
