From The Page (October, 1991):
As the leaves start to change and the crops of the field ripen, thoughts turn to the Harvest and its accompanying festivities. The Ancient and Mighty Province of Southern Shores, once again hosts its annual Harvestfest. This wondrous event will take place on Sunday, October 13, 1991 at John D. Morgan Park, Rincon Ave. in Campbell, with festivities beginning at 10 A.M. and ending around 5 P.M. Site fee is $2 (make checks payable to SCA INC.-Province of Southern Shores).
Among the myriad activities planned for this Autumn day are an on-site coloring contest, Hunkerhauser lists, Creative Karaboushka (dancing to alternative tunes, bring your own or select. from what we have on hand), dancing on the green, and many other contests and activities. Of course, we will also be having the yearly Southern Shores Jeu de Ball Tournament, with champions from previous years, novices, and all ranks between competing to see who will be Jeu de Ball Champion. While there is no fighting tournament scheduled, these is plenty of greensward for challenges and practice. We will also have an on-site raffle of many beautiful, useful and unique items (some that are all three), including a faux-ermine cloak to help keep the upcoming Winds of Winter at bay. Be sure to bring your lunch, and bring a dessert to share, for we have a dessert potluck planned for late aftemoon, with the autocrat suppling tea (iced) and mint water.
So, come and join the fun-loving folk of Southern Shores for a day in the sun, before we are confined to our halls for the winter months.
Autocrat: Na'arah bat Avraham (name/contact info).
