Hastings Day Battle & Feast -- Mordenvale

October 12-13, 1991

From The Pegasus (October, 1991):

There is to be held a camping event to commemorate the Battle of Hastings, at (address omitted), from Saturday morning till Sunday evening. Cost $10 (members) and $12 (non-members). Cheques payable to 'SCA Inc. Mordenvale'. Site has water, toilets & parking. Fires and alcohol are allowed. Signs will be posted from the end of the freeway. People may come by train to Fassifern Station, and ring the site for a lift (# omitted). Saturday includes fighting, and a feast (spitted beast, bread, cheese, fruit), with a viking funeral for Harald Hadrada. Sunday includes a resurrection War. Forces chosen by persona and equipment. Saxons and Vikings at the top of the hill, others will represent the Normans. Contact autocrat for further details. Bookings are required by October 1st.
