The Twenty-sixth Year

Debardchery -- Cloondara

August 17, 1991 (AS XXVI)

From The Page (July, 1991):

Cloondara has held archery tourneys and we have also held bardic events. Now we are combining our talents and are inviting all to our First Annual Debardchery Tourney! The site is the Archery Field in our beautiful Golden Gate Park.

For archers we will be offering IKCAC, IKAC, and Royal Round contests. Prizes will be awarded in several categories and will include special awards for those under 16. The range opens at 9 am and the competition will begin at 11 am.

There will be three rounds in the Bard of Cloondara competition. They are: A period piece with documentation, an original piece in a period style, and an original piece about Cloondara or a Cloondaran. The performance may be vocal, instrumental, or a recitation. Prizes will be awarded for best performance in each round and the overall winner will be named this years Bard of Cloondara.

At 1 pm we will share a potluck picnic. Please bring a dish to share. We ask you to bring a dish according to the first letter of your legal last name: A-L main dish, M-R side dish, and S-Z desserts. There will be a prize for the best period dish.

In addition, we will have other frivolities, including: Silver-Tongued Devil for best compliment of the day; Best display of Cloondara's colors-vert (green), or (yellow), and gules(red) -in clothing or accessories; Period Lawn Ornaments; and the First Annual Big Pig Bladder Battle .

There will be a site fee for those over the age of 12 of $4. We welcome any sunshades you may want to bring, but this IS a dry site.

Autocrats: Caitlin dhuin n'a n'ean (name/contact info) or Katerina Jezema at (phone).
