The Twenty-fifth Year

Championship Tourney & Anniversary Feast -- Silver Desert

September 14-16, 1990 (AS XXV)

From The Page (August, 1990):

All your money spent at Ducal Prize, but the desire to compete still strong? The Silver Desert Championship provides 10 - that's right 10 - events, each with it's own prize (and no entry fee). Cooking, drinking, barding & archery; the infamous "weird weapons" list, & more will be offered. One of the always amusing (or Bemusing) Silver Desert Theme quests is planned as a competition. The Anniversary has been merged with the Championship this year, so a pot-luck feast will tempt the palate. (Yes, before the drinking event.) The Reno area site is still being determined. Details will appear in the Sept. Page, or call the AUTOCRAT: Connor MacAufflie FitzJames at: (phone), evenings.

From The Page (September, 1990):

DATE CHANGE   DATE CHANGE   DATE CHANGE   DATE CHANGE

Guess what! While we weren't looking, the border conflicted scheduled for Sept 8-9 grew into a Principal concern & became a full-fledged WAR between the Mists & Cynagua!! In order to allow all of us here in Silver Desert (and everywhere else, of course) to fully support our Prince in his efforts for our defense, we have changed the Silver Desert Championship from Sept 7-9 to the following weekend, Sept 14-6.

One of the always amusing (or Bemusing) Silver Desert Theme quests is planned. A pot-luck feast will be held Saturday evening to celebrate our 11th anniversary.

The event will be held again at Davis Creek Park in Washoe Valley. The site is at the top of a small hill & there will be a cart available for help in transport of gear. The site will open at 5 pm Friday, & close at 5 pm Sunday. SITE FEE is $4/person, children 5-14 $2, under 5 free. PLEASE NOTE: Due to Park regulations, the gate closes at 9 pm every evening (there is a parking area outside the gate for day only participants). If you will be getting into the area after 9 pm, please call the Autocrat for crash space Friday night. The site is shaded but September weather in Silver Desert can have highs in the 90's & lows in the 40's. Please prepare accordingly.
