From The Page (May, 1990):
On Sunday, June 3, from 8;4:30, the Province of Southern Shores will be holding a combination Warlord Tourney & Prize Lists in conjunction with the annual De Anza Day Community Festival in Cupertino. These will be 2 lists run separately; the prize for the Prize Lists is being provided jointly by Southern Shores & the Shire of Encinal & will be announced later. THe evnet is somewhat like a demo; the site is provided by De Anza College as part of the Festival, & we will be sharing the campus with other community groups (Scottish Dancers, Civil War buffs, & many others). We are trying to arrange for a tape system that will provide music loud enough for dancing, & cold drinks & ice will be provided to all fighters & dancers courtesy of the College. No revel is planned.
If you have never participated, you are missing a wonderful day! Parking is limited, so carpooling is advised; but if you arrive early you may be able to unload right next to 'our' lawn. There is MINIMAL pavilion space, but you arrive early we'll see where we can put you. For more information, call Catherine Kenda of Stillwater, (phone); or call Jared of Castlewood at (phone).
