Fall Coronet Tournament - Principality of the Mists
September 15-16, 1990 (AS XXV)

"This was the event that Valgard Stonecleaver won the Coronet of the Mists for Megan nic Alister of Thornwood.

"It was also the event that Seamus Padraig O'Baoigheallain Mì-nàrach, Captain of Her Highness Ascelin's Escort, was declared officially "Dead" for the duration of the reign, due to the fact that he had insulted Prince Farin at the Mists/Cynagua War while getting out of armor, in a loud enough voice that His Highness heard it (Seamus' defense is that since Farin and he are in the same household and friends that he was just joking ...). In Court, Prince Farin called Seamus to task, and he was then challenged by: The Queen's Champion (Radnor of Guildemar), the Queen's Guard, and the Princess' Escort. Sunday morning saw Seamus up bright and early to fight Radnor, followed by many more fights. Those that he killed his opponent in he was declared the loser, and the rest, well, he died. For the duration of the reign of Farin and Ascelin as Prince and Princess of the Mists, an announcement was made in each court that "Seamus Padraig O'Baoigheallain is STILL dead". (I know, as I was the Seawolf Herald at the time, and did most of those announcements ...)" -- Hirsch von Henford
