The Twenty-fifth Year

June Crown Tournament

June 23-24, 1990 (AS XXV)

From The Page (May, 1990):

Once again June Crown will be held at San Lorenzo County Park in King City, June 23-24th. (This is the same site as last year). The site offers running water, flush privies, hot showers & a nice grassy Erik. The site opens at noon on Friday & closes at dusk on Sunday. The site fee for this event is $12 per car (carpooling encouraged).

Access to the Erik for setting up may be somewhat limited therefore we are asking one & all to bring their carts & able bodied servants in an effort to make setting up a little easier. Please be courteous to the rangers & drive only in the marked (flagged) areas when setting up. The rangers have alloted additional camping space, so it should be a bit more comfortable this year.

The Barony of Darkwood will be hosting a hospitality booth with ice, maps & local area information. There are plenty of hotels, grocery stores & restaurants in the nearby area. The Barony will also be hosting an Arts & Sciences display under the Baronial Sunshade, please come by & take a look at our local artists work.

There will be an area set aside for archery & hopefully an IKAC will be shot on Sunday. The Wooden Spoon competition for this event is Garlic Anything. Call Dierdre Marianna Steele of Cowdray for info (phone). Karabushka is the dance for the Pied d'Argent. As always the Constabulary, Marshalls, & Heralds welcome volunteers.

Merchants are welcome. If you plan on merchanting please be advised that the county will require a 7% excise tax fee on merchandise sold, that will be collected at the end of the event. If you have any questions regarding merchanting please give the autocrat a call.

If you are interested in helping during the evnet or have any questions please give the AUTOCRAT a call: Lady Anastasia Ivanovna (name/contact info).
