From The Page (October, 1990):

The Barony of Fett Burg is sponsoring a Christmas revel to be held Saturday, December 8th, at the United Lutheran Church at (adress), in Manteca, CA. The site opens at 1:00 p.m. Clean-up starts between 10:00 to 10:30 p.m. The SITE FEE is $3 per person, including children (under two free). This is a DRY SITE, NO ALCOHOL!

There will be several competitions. The first one will be a period main dish, to be judged by members of the Blue Bowl (a cooking order consisting of past winners). Documentation required! The second contest will be period costume. Costumes must not have been entered in any competition before. Documentation required! This contest will be judged by our Arts and Sciences officers, and other qualified judges selected by them.

Three other contests with no documentation required will be judged by the populace. These contests are: tell a story, poem, sing a song, or do a short play about the Yuletide season. Material may be your own (if so, please do it in a period style) or taken from period (e.g. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, etc.). Ten minutes or less, please. The second populace judged contest is most festive table setting, and the last is most popular dessert. Dessert need not be period.

In the evening there will be an organized potluck. Let the autocrats know what you are bringing, if possible. The Barony will supply a turkey and a ham. A dish for either food contest may be your potluck dish. Food doesn't need to be period, except for those in the main dish competition. Please make enough to serve at least 10 to 12.

We will have a Christmas tree and a pinata. Feel free to bring a period ornament for the tree (you get it back). Parents with smalls wanting to partake in the pinata, please bring a bag of candy, or small items (toys, pencil erasers, etc.) for several children. There will be activities for children to do during the day.

AUTOCRATS are Mistress K'Alan Taurwen (name/phone) and Lady Victoria of Elmhurst Hollow (name/phone).
