Mists / Cynagua Fall War -- Fettburg / Solais Mor War -- Principality of the Mists

September 7-9, 1990 (AS XXV)

From The Page (July, 1990):

Due to an act of unparalleled barbarism during the last Twelfth Night festivities the Shire of Solais Mor has found no recourse but to declare war on the Barony of Fettburg. Our trusty & well-beloved Morgan Conner, innocently enough, gave to the members of the shire some small tokens depicting a sheep which has been banned, no doubt due to our Sciences officer having discovered health risks associated with these ill-smelling beasts. Our own Gunval of Skoken was proceeding past a group of merchants to see the wares displayed there when Fettburgians taking exception to our concern for public health & welfare, did take possession of his person & carry him off before the Baron's retinue. As the members of the Barony impugned our repute & said that, indeed means war between us. Our good Gunval was narrowly rescued when 1 of our foremost Knights, Gregory of Falconheart, learned of his plight. While it would have been unacceptable to brawl with this rabble as the Prince attempted to sup, Gregory did create sufficient diversion that Gunval escaped whole of body & limb. Our thanks to Gregory for his heroic rescue. Not that war has been declared by both sides, Fettburg & Solais Mor are recruiting mercenaries for the war in September.
