The Twenty-fifth Year

Estrella War -- Kingdom of Atenveldt

February 15-18, 1991 (AS XXV)

From The Page (December, 1990):

Information on the Equestrian Activities at the Estrella War is available from the West Kingdom Chronicler (see below).

I now have information on the A&S competitions for Estrella. Expect a Laurel's Prize Tourney (open to non-Laurels), and an all day/night Bardic Stage (entertainers requested). Also, and I quote, "For you art warriors, there will be an Arts and Sciences Competition that will contribute 1/2 point to the war effort. This year there will be only three categories and each entrant will be allowed to enter only one item. The categories are: 1-Brewing (alcoholic or non); 2-Armor(must be pieces that won't be needed during the battles); 3-War Costuming (your documentation must explain why this costume is appropriate to a war in a desert environment). Documentation will be required and you must fill out the pre-registration form and have it in the hand of the Autocrat Mistress Katlin, no latter than January 15th."

If you are interested, write to the Chronicler (see Branch Dir./West/Chronicler).

From The Page (February, 1991):

The Kingdom of Atenveldt sends greetings unto the populace of the Known World and invites all to join us at the Estrella War. The War will be held at Estrella Mountain Park in Goodyear, Arizona, twenty miles (20) west of Phoenix.

Site fees; Adult member-$12; Adult non-member-$15; Children up to 12-1 per year. Plus a $5fee for each tent.

Site information: Estrella Mountain Park is a 40 acre desert park. Running water is available but, while drinkable, it is unpleasant to the senses. Temperatures are quite warm during the day and can be very frigid at night. Sunscreen and layered clothing are highly recommended. Strong winds are not uncommon--secure your tents. Unfortunately you must also watch your valuables.

Autocrat: Arianna Windhaven (name/contact info).
