The Twenty-fifth Year

Provo di Amore -- Canale

February 9, 1991 (AS XXV)

From The Page (December, 1990):

In Italian "Provo di Amore" means "Proof of Love", or more cynically, "Trial of Love". Put your convictions to the test because all the spoils of victory will go to your consort. You fight only to prove your love and that love shall be your sole inspiration.

AUTOCRAT: Katherine Goodpasture (name/contact info).

From The Page (January, 1991):

In Italian "Provo di Amore" means "Proof of Love", or more cynically, "Trial of Love". Put your convictions to the test because all the spoils of victory will go to your consort. You fight only to prove your love and that love shall be your sole inspiration. The winner's consort will be crowned 'Queen', or 'King', of 'Winter' at her/his evening 'court'.

This year we are having a sword and shield list, and in case of inclement weather the fighting will be inside Phoenix Hall. There will be several on-site contests, also bring an object worthy of a Viscount. Following the lists will be a potluck dinner and continues until the cock crows. There will be dancing, story telling, and gaming to benefit Cynagua.

Phoenix Hall is a Medieval-style hall with dirt floors and very limited kitchen facilities. There will be limited overnight accommodations, Tristan Harrington Lock (phone). The site opens at 9am, lists sign-ups and armor inspection from 10-11 am, lists start at 11 :30am. Site fees: Under 6, free; 6-12, $1 ; 13 and over, $3.

AUTOCRAT: Katherine Goodpasture (name/contact info).
