Oldtimer's Tournament -- Caldarium

May 19, 1990 (AS XXV)

On Saturday, May 19, the Province of Caldarium will hold its 2nd annual Old Timer's Tourney & revel, at the San Francisco Theological Seminary, (address), San Anselmo, Marin County. The Revel site is the Knights of Columbus Hall, (address), San Anselmo.

Activities planned for the day include: Grand March, Maypole, Fighting at the Barrier, Cutting Contest (with prizes), Old Timers Costume Contest (for originals & replicas), a quest for smalls, Old Timers Lists (For fighters who fought in Tourneys before the end of AS X), Archery (WAR BLUNTS ONLY DUE TO SITE CONDITIONS), Challenge Lists (for new fighters as well as old), & a Pandybat Crutch/Cane Battle.

Revel activities planned include: Informal meal (Buffet sales to benefit Caldarium, donations requested), Old Tourney Films (including the 1st Tournament), Live entertainments, Music, & Dancing.

Schedule: 8am--site opens for set up, 9:30--Lists sign ups open, 10--Grand March & Opening (Informal) Court, 11-May Pole, 11:30--Old Timers Lists open, noon--various other activities begin including Open Lists, Contests, Challenges, etc.; 4:30--Closing Court & Awards Ceremony, 5:00--Revel Hall opens for setup (please bring decorations for hall), 6:30--Revel Begins, & midnight--Revel Ends/Hall Cleanup.

NOTE: Cutting Contest--The best arm weilding the best blade--the cutting contest will be divided into beginning & advanced (having competed at least once before) levels. Entry fee for beginners will be 1 plastic 2 litre soft drink bottle with cap, with a prize for the winner to be announced. Entry fees for the advanced will be the same as for beginners plus $1, with a fine blade as prize for the winner.
