From The Page (January, 1990):
We invite one & all to our Midwinter's Potluck Fesst & Prize Tourney. The feast is at the Willow Hall of the Chapman Center,(address omitted), Chico. The site opens at noon; the hall opens at 5 pm & closes at 12. Please bring a dish. The tourney takes place on the playing field outside, with list sign up at noon & the fighting starting at 1. Fighters compete for a basket of Rivenoak's finest beverages. SITE FEE: $3. It's a WET SITE. There will be supervised activities for children (dressed warmly, pleasel), with an outdoor play area. Crash space can be arranged.
The Arts Competition will be Best Period Tablesetting (NO lit candles!) & Sable and Or Anything (of art with those colors predominant); the Cooking Competition will be Best Period Dessert & Best Sable and Or Dish.
