Mists Fall Coronet -- Principality of the Mists

Their Highnesses, Robert and Yseult, invite you to witness the selection by combat of Their successors at Mists Fall Coronet. The location of this glorious event is Big Trees/Bort Meadows (same as Spring coronet). The site opens at six p.m. on Friday and closes at five p.m. on Sunday. There are spigots for water, pit privies, shade and wildlife. There is also a running stream (or a deep ditch, if it's dry) and poison oak on the hillside, so be aware of yourself and your children.

Announcements will be made by the town crier method (every couple of hours). The Arts competition will be Pet Clothing (yes, your dog, not your teddy bear!). No horse barding, please. It is not necessary to have a live pet to model the entry on. Please contact Sula von Pferdenthal at (phone) for more information. The Sciences office will have a display on all day Saturday. See Grafin Grun der Spitzenkloppler for more information. Silver spoon will be Chicken (any period documentation is appreciated!!). At least 50% (by weight) of the finished dish must be chicken. Please contact William Darcy of Montrose (phone) for more information. The Page School will have a workshop on making pants. Pages are asked to bring sewing equipment (needles, thread) and 1 1/2 yards of fabric (at least 44" wide). Please contact Cillene MacRorie at (phone) for more information.

Dogs are allowed but must be leashed at all times. Horses are also allowed, so feel free to bring them and take advantage of the beautiful riding trails. This is a "wet" site; please imbibe responsibly. Any Merchants wishing to sell wares please contact the site autocrat prior to the event.

These times ARE NOT FLEXIBLE!! Please do not arrive prior to six p. m. on Friday and be packed up betore evening court on Sunday. We MUST be off site before 5 p.m. Sunday! The site fee will be $5.00, children under 12 free. There will be reserved space on the Eric for the Royalty, the lists, heralds and chirurgeon ONLY. Do not "SAVE" eric space tor late arrivals. Parking will be very limited. Please carpool. The rangers require the gate to be locked at 10 pm; the standard SCA lock will be used. Constables will be on duty during open gate hours. Please cooperate with them regarding parking, and help them out by volunteering an hour or two for duty. The road onto the camping area will be closed to vehicles on Saturday from opening court through Invocation of the Lists, and again during closing court on Sunday. Please be aware of this and plan your loading and unloading accordingly. All fires must be off the ground due to extreme fire danger. There will be no exceptions.

The Bard of the Mists competition will be held Saturday evening after court. The time and place of the competition will be announced at evening court. Her Highness wishes all who are able to attend this competition. Contact Sula for more information. See the August Page for contest specifics. NOTE: This competition WILL be held at Coronet. This is a change from the information in the August Page, which stated the event was September 24th.
