The Twenty-fourth Year

Heraldic Collegium

November 11, 1989 (AS XXIV)

From The Page (October, 1989):

All interested persons are invited to spend the weekend of November 11-12 participating in the third Western Heraldic Collegium. The site is the Tressider Student Union on the Standford University campus near Palo Alto. The site is free, so there will probably be no site fee. The site opens 8:30 am, Saturday. Schedule of classes will be printed in the November Page. You may bring a bag lunch or go into town or tryout the convenience store and cafeteria downstairs. We will probably go out for dinner Saturday night. Some sleeping space will be available and classes will continue Sunday morning. The classes autocrat is Hirsch von Henford at (phone). The site autocrat is Juls Siwaldsen (name) at (phone).

From The Page (November, 1989):

O yez! 0 yez! The College of Heralds of the Kingdom of the West will be holding an Heraldic Collegium at the Tresider Student Union at Stanford University. Despite rumors to the contrary, it is for EVERYONE who's interested in heraldry.

There's not a complete list of classes available yet, as we're still getting instructors at the time of this writing. There will be classes on what a device is, and how to register one, what to do with a device (coat of arms) once it's registered, and how to do Voice Heraldry (we ALWAYS need volunteers). Other classes include 'Something Welsh' (taught by the Kingdom expert on Welsh, Mistress Keridwen o'r Mynydd Gwyrdd), 'Something Celtic', and many more.

Classes start at 9:30 on both days, with the site opening at 8:30. Saturday evening, we plan either a revel, or going out to dinner en masse. (We're not sure yet. And you thought the heralds were always organized!)

If you have questions about the site, get in contact with Juls Siwaldsen at (phone). For any other questions (classes, housing, etc,) get in contact with Hirsch von Henford at (phone). We'll see you there!
