From The Page (August, 1989):
Castillo de los Lobos is at war again! During the last West/Caid war, a gentleman(?) from Windy Meads was offered a cloven fruit by one of our ladies and insulted the lady when he ran with it instead of acting in the manner we have grown to expect. Our lady searched throughout the night until she found the gentleman(?), only to learn he no longer had the fruit. Later that evening another gentleman(?) from Windy Meads tried to take a blanket from the shoulders of yet another of our ladies (it was a cool evening and it was her blanket!) We feel that these insults are ground for war! Hence, the Great Blanket War! So even now as fighters and archers choose sides, (target archery will be worth war points) preparations are being made to create unique war scenarios. All fighters and archers are welcome. The site is the River Ranch Campground near Sonora. It is a lush green valley surrounded by 90 acres of private forest. There are two rivers and poison oak, so beware with your children. There are hot showers, no electricity, no hookups. When the war is over on Saturday, plan to join us for a feast ($6) with a revel to follow as both sides become one. The site fee is $6 per person over 12 for the weekend (day fee is $4). Merchants are encouraged with a $5 fee. Parking is limited so plan to arrive early.
