From The Page (January, 1989):
On February 18-20, 1989, all residents of the Known World are invited to assemble at Estrella Park in Goodyear, Arizona to join with Atenveldt and Caid in battle! The gate this year is CASH ONLY!! We will accept cash, cashier's checks and money orders only, no personal checks or credit cards. The pricing system this year is as follows: 1 to 14 years old, $.50 per year of age; 15 years and above, $13 members (please bring proof!); $16 nonmembers. We have a special this year, anyone wishing to attend from overseas (i.e. outside the Continental U.S., Canada or Mexico, will receive free admission. An additional $1.00 per car fee will be charged by the park service. Marshalls will be at the gate to verify authorizations and sign up fighters. HOWEVER, you will not get to register with them until you pay your site fee.
We have arranged numerous diversions for nonfighters (and for fighters in nonfighting moments). On the schedule so far is the inter-kingdom arts and sciences competition, archery competition, a quest, bardic circles, the marvelously diverting merchants row will be there and more!
War weather tends to be shirt sleeve warm during the day and frost-on-the-tent chilly at night. We have heard that the site water has been improved this year, but wise folk may still choose to bring their own. Warm showers will be available.
Below you will find a registration form for the Estrella War. Please make enough copies for each man, woman and child in your group. Fill them out and bring them with you to the war. Do NOT MAIL THIS FORM IN! No pre-registrations will be accepted for the war this year. Fighters, please have your warrant information with you when you arrive at the gate. We are trying to facilitate as many people through the gate in the shortest amount of time as possible. Please help us by having all your information filled out and with you when you reach the gate.
For further information, contact the main autocrats, Arik Alton or Roslyne of Saxony (names/contact info). Please, no calls after 9 pm. Merchants please contact Malcolm the Scott (name/contact info).
