From The Page (September, 1988):
The Eskalyan Arts and Sciences office is sponsoring a Collegium on September 24. The theme is a harvest feast and the classes are designed to provide instruction in period cooking (a feast will be cooked on site and served as part of the Collegium). There will also be period games and pasttimes (such as Jeu de ball, backgammon, and perhaps some form of needle art), recognitions of symbols of rank and achievement, table decorating/selting/serving, and hopefully some form of "fighting for nonfighters" class. In short, we intend to cover those skills required to get the most enjoyment out of preparation for and attendance at an event. The site is the Alaska Zoo Chalet (off O'Malley Road, east of the New Seward Highway). The site will open at l0am for registration and classes begin at 11 am. There will be a site fee (call the autocrat for amount), which will include the feast. Please bring your own table service. If you have any further questions, contact Nerissa Meraud de la Fontaine, at (phone) (no calls after 10 pm)
